That Council cease providing food for Council meetings; and
That elected Council and staff provide their own food as required for meetings.
Council needs to lead the way in cutting all non-essential expenditure. Council has directed the Chief Executive to find all possible ways of cutting non – essential expenditure.
Stopping catering for meetings represents $19,000 budgeted per annum or $23,750 over the remaining 15 months of the term of office.
A roster of existing secretarial staff could be used to make tea and coffee and clean up after meetings.
