That, given the need for job creation in the district and the importance of tourism as a means of job creation, the portfolio holder be strengthened with a subcommittee of two Councillors and a brief to ensure that funds allocated to the development of tourism are spent.
It has been pointed out to me that we have difficulty achieving the objectives. By appointing a subcommittee to assist the portfolio holder in this important matter of job creation, we can ensure that the Council’s market development expenditure is properly directed.
