All the best. They can't say NO and not very good at arithmetic either. My Federated Farmers offsider tells me he has recommended lodging an appeal against the proposed district plan on a number of issues. Assuming that now Farmers of New Zealand and the EDS will also lodge appeals not forgetting DOC and the Tweety bird people how can we poor rate payers afford all this litigation.

Council must first fess up, then it can step up. We cannot move ahead until we know what we are moving ahead from. McKerchar has fitted blindfolds to the council and the ratepayers and told them to march forward. The council are still willing to do that, the ratepayers no longer are.

I fully endorse the comments of Angry Fairy Tern - whilst I and I am sure others are working on various fronts lets Get Real together and coordinate some more action.

It is not "Its Time", it is "We are nearly out of time".

Jonathan I have gone through the forums. I feel ashamed. You have done a wonderful job and I can completely understand what you are trying to achieve. The Workboot site is a resource that the District can (should) be proud of. It is up to us to help. I will be posting under a new name in the forums. I would like to meet (internet political dating) so many of the contributors to this web site. I have admired so many of the postings from John2, richard, Ralph, tutamoe ted, michelle kemp, knotty, Fox and more. Perhaps there should be a Get Real forum so we can organise to meet.

My hope is that some of the other Councillors come around and realise that rather than being an nuisance you are a plain speaker and to be treasured in these days of lazy inaction.

You have made a contribution that is lasting. McKerchar, Tiller and Geange claim that but you have walked the talk where they have talked, talked and talked.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

The election results were very clear as to where the kaipara population stand.

Quite right Elections.I agree entirely . Now look where we're standing----right up to our necks in debt.
I would like an ugly Mayor next time ----
One who can count amongst other attributes.

And how about it "New Chums?
When are you going to step up to the plate ??

The only problem with the Kaipara Can group was the front-man. There is no middle ground with B G you either like or loath him. The election results were very clear as to where the kaipara population stand.

Jack M also commented that the original Ecocare project was 'good value'. Well this is where the problems start. It isn, and never was. The sums are simple: $23,000,000/1,200 and you $19,166 per property. It actually gets to be better value at $59m/4,500 except about 4,000 of them don't exist at present!
No matter how you cook it ;good' value' it aint.
Alternative build em as you need em micro systems with great variable use capacity can be installed for as low as $6,000/household on a small group share basis. The problem council has with this is the management of many small vs the management of one monster. Jack M just couldn't get his mind around the former option.
I only hope Bayleys folk can do these simple sums and avoid the black smelly hole that is the McKerchar legacy.

Now, gotta go for a surf at Mangwhai - cheers
